Fully Express Your Truth
Somatic Trauma Release Experiencing For Your Sustainable Healing Journey
Somatic healing is all the rage today, and for good reason. Now more than ever, people are starting to realize that they need more to truly heal mind, body, spirit.
SOMA: The mind body as a whole. Connecting through movement, expression, intention, dialogue, release.
SOMATIC RELEASE
A choice / voluntary / intentional (breath work, rage ceremony) (Part of the Peripheral Nervous System)
Unexpected energy release (shaking, screaming, crying) (falls in the Autonomic Nervous System)
Calm release (yawning, yin yoga, walking)
IN RELATION TO TRAUMA
Trauma separates us from our bodies
There is a need to experience safety
Most often, there is a need to connect back to the Inner Child
Dissociation
Disconnection to intuition (third eye chakra)
Disconnection to being grounded (root chakra)
What is Trauma Informed Work & Care in the Somatic World?
Trauma-informed care means understanding, anticipating, and responding to the issues, expectations, and special needs that a person who has been victimized may have. At a minimum, trauma-informed services seek to do no harm—to avoid re-traumatizing or blaming clients for trying to manage their traumatic reactions.
A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE BODY HOLDING ONTO TRAUMA:
COMPLEX PTSD:
Not seeing a way out, leading to internalizing and learned helplessness, dissociative behavior and patterns
BETRAYAL TRAUMA:
Childhood abuse, not protected as a child emotionally or physically, child became the parent, PTSD begins
DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA:
Disassociation between the body and mind, physical/sexual abuse, chronic illness, anxiety, loss of loved one, accidents that have affected the physical, nightmares, terrorism, neglect, community violence
Stepping into a safely held Somatic Release container can support:
rewiring of the brain to help break toxic cycles
detoxification on a cellular level supporting physical health
clarity softening old internalizing thought patterns
physical release supporting chronic pain
energetic blockages begin breaking and/or releasing
discovery of body communication
We can fly high in love and bliss, ONLY when our roots have gone deep into the earth beneath our feet.
